WHEN HE GOES, I WILL COME

WHEN HE GOES, I WILL COME

A few years ago, I was in a small prayer meeting in the church I was working with,

By small, I mean there was a grand total of four of us in attendance,

We gathered each week to wait on God for an extended time and pray out of what he showed us,

On one occasion, as we prayed, I saw a vision,

In the vision, I saw a large throne with the letter e sat on it,

As I watched, a hand came and knocked the e off of the throne,

I looked and said, what on earth does that mean, Lord,

He responded and said, when e goes, I will come!

We understood the Lord was asking us to deal with ego taking centre stage in his church,

We repented of ego on behalf of the church and ourselves and invited God to come.

The Presence Of God came with such strength that all of us began to weep,

This has been one of the most profound encounters with God I’ve ever had in my life.

You see, God will not cohabit. If we want him to manifest in our lives, ministries and churches, E must GO!

Spiritual boldness and fleshly ego,

There is a big difference between spiritual boldness and fleshly ego,

Spiritual boldness will call for us to take outrageous steps of obedience at times that look almost reckless and foolish. However, at its centre, it is God-focused, and even in its bold declarations and actions, it still keeps God on centre stage, always points to him, and seeks to honour and glorify him.

This is not the case with ego; ego says, look at me, listen to me, look at what I’ve done, look at what I’ve got. It is at its centre a spirit of idolatry.

Ego will seek to push others down, disempower and slander. It seeks to make others look inferior and second class. Ego is reactionary and quick to take offence, and intensely competitive.

Sadly, this spirit will always seek to take centre stage, and it’s always staggering how so many can see it yet fail to speak out,

Just like the little boy in the story of the king and his new clothes, everyone could see the king was naked, yet no one dared to speak,

Then one small boy spoke out,

In our day, God is calling for a deeper level of humility and integrity,

His desire for this has not changed, he has always wanted this in his church and especially in his leaders,

but in times when God draws near the light of his presence begins to expose things that have been left untouched by the light of his presence.

Allow God to search your heart,

We have entered such a time, allow the Holy Spirit to show you where E is on the throne in your life, don’t point the figure at others; instead, allow the Lord to search your heart and life and come to him afresh in a deeper level of surrender and repentance.

Seek to build in those settings where true spiritual boldness and humility are demonstrated,

Humility is not weakness. It’s spiritual strength, and it puts God on centre stage and points to him alone.

The sound of the New,

Recently the Lord spoke to me and said, every new season has a sound,

I asked him, what is the sound of this season?

He said, humility and surrender, this new season will carry the sound of tears of surrender.

We have entered a time where e must GO!

As leaders and believers, may we all seek to lead with integrity and seek to bring glory to God alone!

We are entering a time where there will be dramatic demonstrations of God’s glory and power on the earth. May we all live as truly surrendered vessels devoted only to God.

Lord help us, search us, transform us and help us genuinely reveal your nature to our broken world!
