The Pocket Watch

Several weeks ago, I sensed the Lord directing me to do an odd thing,

I felt him say, 

My son, I want you to watch the restoration of a Watch,

So, I went to YouTube and hunted out a video.

I clicked the play button and what happened next was amazing,

I felt Like God was speaking through the man on the video as he went through the process of restoring the Watch.

He started,

What we have here is a beautiful gold pocket Watch. It is very precious to my friend as it has been passed down the generations and dates back many years to the American civil war.

He opens the Watch,

The reason this Watch has stopped working is due to this badly cracked glass, and the crack has allowed dirt to get into the mechanism of the Watch,

there is also now no tension to wind the Watch as the central spring has broken,

The only way to get this Watch working again is to fully deconstruct it, break it down into its parts, take out the broken spring and then clean all the components in a sonic bath,

Then reconstruct it and replace the broken glass and spring.

As he puts the parts in the sonic bath, he says,

As the parts are submerged, the sound waves shake the dirt off of all the components and brings them back to the condition they should be

He then talked about the new spring,

If there is no tension in the watch’s heart, it cannot be wound up, and it will not keep time.

Do you hear God speaking, I did?

The Word of the Lord

As I sat reflecting on the video, the Lord began to speak,

My son, the lens of my church, has been broken. As a result, contamination has got into the heart, the tension of truth has been lost and now many have fallen out of step with me.

I am the God of mercy but also the God of justice.

I am the God of grace, but I also desire obedience 

I am the God of Love, but I correct and discipline those I Love,

I am saviour, and I am Lord

Because of this lack of tension of truth, many have fallen out of my times and seasons,

So I will do to my church what you saw done to the Watch, I will take you apart and dismantle you,

I will take you through a time of shaking, cleansing and purification, in heart, in function, in understanding and mission,

I will take you back my original design,

You must go through a time of dismantling, restoration, reformation and reconstruction before you can see the fresh release of my Spirit,

You must come before me and ask me to show you your broken lenses and the areas of contamination,

and allow me to restore the tension of truth,

I saw a vital part of this being the Apostles and Prophets being restored to their foundational position in the church, leading to greater effectiveness for the other fivefold functions and ultimately the church’s mission completed.
